I was cruising
through life. Eating and drinking anything and
everything. 1.5 litres of Pepsi Max a day, and
a few beers. Buying my lunch from the pie van
and snacking on Tim Tams and chips after
dinner. When I look back I had a terrible
diet.
I
hadn’t done an ounce of exercise in the last
10 years and yet I still thought I was fit and
looking good.
What
a joke.
Tracey had been
going to Power Fitness for a few years,
exercising, but not really focusing on the
food side as much. She did a 10 week challenge
in spring of 2010, lost a few kilos and with
the help of her trainer developed a greater
understanding of the diet aspect to training.
Tracey lost another few kilos in her 2nd 10
week challenge but the fat mass loss and
muscle mass gain was the winning end result.
Since the challenge Tracey's focus has been
strong.
She
still eats lean, has 1-2 PT's per week, group
classes, and now is throwing in a boot camp
for added extra.
All
up Tracey has lost 13kg and dropped 2-3 dress
sizes.
She’s looking fit and healthy and feeling good
about herself.
My journey
started with the 2nd
ten week challenge this year. We had just
spent Christmas in Europe. My clothes were a
bit tighter and Trace decided that it was time
to do something about it. I gave up Pepsi Max
and improved my diet.
And
if it wasn’t for Chris and his trainers at
Power Fitness I wouldn’t have. They have an
ability to be able to read a person and get
the best out of you. They know when to push
you that extra 10%, just when you want to
stop. Now I really enjoy training with Chris
and all the hard work is paying off. I’ve now
lost close to 14kg. We both just completed the
Bridge to Brisbane 10km run which we would
never have contemplated.
Training hasn’t
always been easy, and some days you’re a
little sore, but it has been worth it.
Remember, all good things take time. It won't
happen overnight and results are not always
immediate but stick to it. If I can change my
life and many bad habits so can you. You’ll
never look back.

After many years
of long hours at work, ordinary eating habits
and little exercise to speak of my weight
reached unacceptable proportions, so much so
that a photo with my grandchildren made me
feel embarrassed. I decided to do something
about it. I knew that walks and
self-motivation simply wouldn’t do the trick
.. I needed some help and guidance to get
started and get me on track.
To be honest, I
was embarrassed going into the gym. I thought
all sorts of negative things, but right from
the outset, I’ve received encouragement
support and expertise on my journey to a
healthier life. Mitch has been my PT from day
1, almost 5 months ago. I’ve been doing 2
sessions a week under his guidance and in that
time I’ve lost almost 18kgs. There’s been no
diet .. it’s been hard work, some changed
eating and drinking habits, and yes some fun
as well. My activities change constantly which
keeps it interesting. Mitch definitely
challenges me, but it’s fun achieving things
you know you couldn’t do before and didn’t
think you would. The atmosphere at the gym is
great .. Mitch, along with the other trainers
Chris and Darren, provide heaps of
encouragement and I never feel uncomfortable
or out of place.
Thanks Mitch

My lifestyle
choices had become atrocious. Working long
hours, skipping meals in the morning and
during the day and then eating anything that
wasn't nailed down from late afternoon til
bedtime and not getting any exercise. And when
I finally decided to do something about it I
only tackled part of the problem. I still
worked too many hours and still skipped too
many meals but at least I was exercising. I
thought that would be all that I needed to do
to drop the weight. How wrong I was!
Even working with a personal trainer for
several years didn't give me the results I
really wanted. I was fitter and had lost some
weight but still focused too much on weight
training and not enough on cardio and still
didn't get my food right.
Chris came
highly recommended and one of the first things
we did was set both short and long term goals
with rewards along the way. Chris worked with
me with a food diary and increased my cardio
as well as letting me still play with the
weights that I loved. It hasn’t been easy,
there’s been a few tears shed and every now
and then I’ve fallen off the rails but we’ve
had a lot of laughs along the way. I have now
lost 20kgs, increased my fitness level
tremendously and during a 12 month period went
from barely running 300m on the treadmill to
completing several fun runs including a half
marathon. I've been with Chris over 3 years
now, train with him 3 days a week and no two
training sessions are the same. We’ll do
anything from weights to boxing to outdoor
boot camp/caveman training; even mixed martial
arts. All the staff are fantastic but without
Chris’ tireless support, motivation,
encouragement .... and sometimes a little
yelling, I wouldn't be where I am today.
There is no easy solution to getting fit
and losing weight....just a lot of hard work
and getting the food aspect right. And you
don't have to starve yourself to do it either!
Exercise doesn't have to be boring or
repetitive, but it's not meant to be easy
either. You just need to find someone that
will push you past the limits YOU'VE put on
yourself.
I did and I can’t thank Chris
enough for giving me my life back! .

Hi, I'm Jane,
After moving to Australia from the UK in 2010, I decided that a 'new life' needed a 'new me'. Over the years I have started and failed at many diets and gyms, but this time I was more determined than ever, so in October 2010 I walked through the doors of Power Fitness and have never looked back. I currently do 2 PT sessions a week with Chris as well as 1 or 2 group sessions and a yoga class. In the 11 months that I have been training I have lost 8kg (my starting weight was 73kgs) and around 60cm of fat.
I cannot thank Chris enough for his encouragement and ongoing support during my fitness/weight loss journey, I have always been made to feel welcome, which is so important when living so far away from family and everything that is familiar, and as a result have made a fantastic group of friends who make our group sessions such a laugh.
I would highly recommend Power Fitness and the trainers to anyone who wants to get fit and have fun whilst doing it.

In January 2007, I decided it was time to do something for myself and to make my health and fitness a priority. I hadn’t exercised regularly since I discharged from the Air Force in 2003 and had my children. My goal was to feel good about myself, enjoy sometime with my friends and improve my fitness. If I lost weight and toned up in the process that was an added bonus. I started personal training at POWER Fitness, in group sessions, with 2 girlfriends in that January and haven’t looked back.
Over the last 2 years I have improved my fitness beyond my expectations. I have enjoyed exercising with friends, made new friends, felt very supported, encouraged and motivated by fellow clients and staff and hopefully I have been able to do the same for others. I have completely changed my body shape and lost 12 kilos but more importantly, I am the fittest and healthiest I have ever been.
I feel like I have a 2nd lease on life and I have found a love of running. Staff and clients of POWER Fitness have been with me every step of the way, and I will be eternally thankful. I couldn’t have done it, and continue to lead a healthy life, without your support, encouragement, motivation and expertise. And I have a new career and a job that I absolutely love thanks to POWER Fitness.
Working for POWER Fitness is every bit as enjoyable, rewarding and motivating as being a client – we are all here for the same reasons and you know you are amongst friends.
